Here you have my little review of Matt Ryd’s album Looking For Home that was released on September 10th. The 1st single is Healed, a song that feature on Scrubs’ 803 episode. Here are my thoughts track by track. It’s not your regular review, but basically what came to my mind as I listened to the tracks.
Impressions: the 1st track of the album. A cool pop song, love the chorus. My favourite song of this album! Should have been the 1st single!

Healed: a perfect radio-friendly song! More uptempo & “rocking” than the others. This is the one that You featured on Scrubs' episode 803.

For So Long: A pure pop gem. I love it, nothing I can say besides that.

Pieces: pop/rock, has to be the 2nd single from this album! Absolutely love it!

Wondrin: The guitar, the slow pace of the song, mellow. It’s my song, I’m definitely wondering.

Lie To Me: Again… guitar + voice = love it! I love stripped down songs, they reveal the talent (or lack of) of an artist. And he has it!

Marianne: a great ballad, great lyrics, a great message. I totally see the video for this song in my mind.

Over You: A song that has a more pop/rock vibe to it. The drums, the guitar are all working great together. It’s a very good song for those that like a stronger melody/beat.

When I Fall: I love the intro of this song; it sounds as whispers to our ears, singing in a lower register… one of the most stripped down songs of the record that builds up towards the end.

Home: I’m a sucker for a voice and a guitar. Another strong combination of lyrics & melody. One of my favourite tracks on this album.

Shadow Of Your Life: the last track from this record. Closes the journey we had from track 1 to now. A sweet & calm song. Again… very strong lyrical abilities.

Matt Ryd is definitely someone that has something to say. Definitely a poet, Matt pours his soul into the lyrics that, for me, are the best part of this album. He reminds me of artists like Jack Johnson, Jason Mraz, Colbie Caillat, Jer Coons… If you like these artists you will also love Matt Ryd. It is a very cohesive record, an album suitable to listen on your own while thinking on your life or with your friends. Definitely a radio-friendly album. Love it!!Overall is great album! I know this isn't your regular review but is 100% honest and straight through my heart. You definitely should check him out!!
